Are you interested in pushing the frontiers of probabilistic machine learning, and building out scalable APIs for developers like yourself?
We’re not going to pull this off on our own!
We’re looking for an API developer to help us design and build our infer-structure.
- You’ve built cool stuff on top of Amazon Web Services — and the AWS product blog is at the top of your RSS reader.
- You think Python (“the hiss”) is a very productive, enjoyable language.
- Devops tools, like puppet, chef, and fabric, make your life easier.
- You’re a fan of mostly-mature technologies for back-ending data like mongo, redis, memcache, etc.
We’re looking for someone to help us hack on our core inference engines.
- You’re totally comfortable in C++ or something similar.
- You use phrases like “multicore apocalypse” in daily conversation.
- You hit boost.org at least once a month to see if there’s a new release, and pore over the docs to boost::mpl. Maybe you think boost::random is too complex and have an idea of how to better write your own.
- You have a nerd-crush on Herb Sutter or Andrei Alexandrescu — or you know how to pronounce Bjarne Stroustrup.
- You’ve hacked on numerics code — sometimes waking up in the morning thinking “damn it, my log function is just too slow”.
We’re looking for a machine learning expert who loves being Bayesian and thinks MCMC is the bee’s knees.
- You use phrases like “posterior simulation” and “fully characterize the joint distribution” in daily conversation.
- For Halloween, you went as Nicholas Metropolis or E. T. Jaynes.
- You read NIPS/AISTATS/ICML papers the way everyone else reads webcomics.
- When someone asks you out, you consider if their proposal is reversible before deciding whether to accept or reject them.
- You wake up at night screaming: “Oh my god it violates detailed balance!”
Other reasons to work with us:
- We’re real, venture-backed, pay well, offer full benefits, and will buy you whatever tools you need to be productive.
- Our offices are in an historic building in downtown SF (3rd and Market), so you can avoid that soul-sucking South Bay commute.
- We have several office mascots and an unhealthy addiction to kombucha and Arnold Palmers.
Interested? Have questions? E-mail us at jobs@priorknowledge.com .
Super-interested? Send us (in decreasing order of preference):
- A link to your github account showing us cool stuff you’ve done
- A link to your technical blog, twitter stream, etc. showing us the cool things you like to think about, hack on, and discuss
- A resume/cover letter/something-else-from-1994
